If you plan on going to a concert while in South Korea, chances are you will be going to Olympic Park.
Olympic Park was built to host the Summer Olympics in 1998. Within the public park are roughly 200 sculptures, Olympic Hall music venue, museums, and a rose garden. The rose garden is a beautiful place to take pictures and is a bit of an oasis within the hustle and bustle of Seoul.
You may recall the Gangnam (강남) area from my blog on COEX Mall and SMTown. Olympic Park is also in Gangnam. You can take subway line 9 from Bongeunsa Station (봉은사역) at COEX/SMTown just seven stops – fifteen minutes – to Olympic Park Station. From there it is a short walk to the Olympic Park complex.

For those of you who like K-Pop, JYP Entertainment is just down the road. While you cannot enter the company building, you can go to the adjacent cafe, Soul Cup, and grab an organic snack or drink. On the far wall of the cafe, JYPE idol music videos continuously play. If you’re lucky, you may even bump into a JYPE idol as quite a few are known to frequent the cafe for their daily dose of caffeine.
