If you know me, you know I love books. In fact, I love books so much that my TBR pile is virtually insurmountable. Does that lead to reading? Unfortunately, no. But it does lead to buying more books in an effort to get motivated to tackle the pile!
“Battling Bookshelves” is a new series I will be starting with friends as a form of motivation to read through everything we currently have on our bookshelves, both old and new.
We will each take a turn choosing a genre of literature, such as junior fiction, romance, etc., and then choose a book from our bookshelves that fits the prompt. We will then read our books, swap, and read each other’s books. We will follow a series of predetermined questions to compare our chosen books and “battle it out”.
Here is the list of our (subject to change) questions:
- How did you hear about it?
- Was it fiction or non-fiction?
- How was the character development (if applicable)?
- Was there a stand-out moment?
- Was there something that could have been improved?
- When do you recommend reading it? (season of year/season of life)
- Would you recommend it, and to whom?
- Any last thoughts?
I’ll be posting which books we are reading at the start of each challenge. If you’d like to, sound off in the comments and join us on this adventure!
